A Flock of Thoughts

The Folk Flock is an independent content self-publication business launched in January 2026 by Jacob Porter. The poetry is free and accessible via subscription without financial backing. Poetry may vary in style and topic, but that's why this site is a flock of thoughts as the folk flock. Each poem has a bit of me in it and I believe that there is no ideal person like there is no ideal way to communicate. A Free subscription is how you can communicate with me best to show me that you like my content. Updates will also be included in subscriptions. Cancellation policy is the Ghost.io standard, can cancel anytime.

All pages and posts are standard to terms of services for Stripe and Ghost. All content is self-moderated and edited. I may need to update pages at times for clarity. I do not use generative artificial intelligence in my work.

If you'd like to support my work financially, this is the starting option where you can support me through a subscription-based model. This is the cheapest tier and means you'll have access to more poems on top of what I publish for free.

Corner Store Chips ($5 AUD)

Like the greasy newspaper carbohydrates, you can support me for the amount that you would pay for chips these days. I remember when I'd fork out $3 AUD for corner store chips... and here you can receive poetry readings alongside the previous tier's access alongside audio recordings of my poems.

The Square Pizza ($10 AUD)

When I studied at Griffith University's Nathan campus in the 2010s, $10 square pizzas were like friends to me. Think of this as the tier you can receive more of my personal life through memoirs. If you want to hear about my experiences being transgender and why I don't regret transitioning and de-transitioning, here's a tier for you. All the previous tiers are included. Rest in power, all Marsha P. Johnsons.

A Succulent Chinese Meal?! ($20 AUD)

The essays, reports and reviews. If you really want it, there's some opinions you can view, but for the price a certain someone may roll over in their grave for. This tier is dedicated to my Bachelor of Arts in History and Criminal Justice and creative and professional writing course. If you want a chicken combination of nonsense and fried facts then try your luck with this meal!

Ernie the Eb Tuba ($100 AUD)

Only for the truly dedicated. Like the tuba I play on, this tier is either for the very ambitious or very ridiculous. If you really like my stuff and want my personal attention, you'll get it here like the tuba gets attention everywhere I go. I'll write creative commissions for you and the turnover would be a fortnight to a month at maximum. I'll study, I'll work, I'll write, then rewrite. All the previous tiers are included. For a premium, I will be on time!
